Norton Commons Dog Park Rules and Regulations:
The Norton Commons community has 3 dog parks to benefit dog owners and their pets. While residency is not required, anyone using the parks must first register and get a park fob at the Norton Commons Residential Village Association (NCRVA) office located at 9418 Norton Commons Blvd.
We appreciate your attention to the following rules and guidelines which are provided for the safety and mutual enjoyment of those using the parks.
- Entry into each of the dog parks is at the risk of the dog owners or handlers who are responsible and liable for any damage to property, persons, or other animals caused by their dog(s). Norton Commons is not responsible for any injuries caused by dogs to other dogs or persons.
- All dogs must be licensed through Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS). All dogs must have current Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Flu. If your pet's license with LMAS is expired, suspended or revoked then park privileges within Norton Commons are suspended immediately and will be reinstated once your license status is once again active.
- Owners and handlers must pick up any waste left by their dog(s). Failure to do so may result in loss of park privileges. Waste bags are provided for your convenience.
- All dogs must remain on leash until they are inside the dog park.
- Dog owners or handlers shall not have more than three dogs in the park at one time. All dogs shall be accompanied and supervised by a handler at all times.
- Dog handlers shall remove their dog(s) at the first sign of aggressive behavior.
- Do not bring a dog into the park that is in heat or which you know to be ill with a viral or bacterial infection (kennel cough, Parvo, Distemper), a parasite infection (worms, fleas or ticks), or has any open wounds.
- Dogs under four months of age are not permitted in the dog park.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while in the dog park(s).
- Food (pet or human) and glass containers are not allowed inside the dog park.
- Dogs, owners, and park users creating a disturbance or violating rules must immediately leave the park if requested by law enforcement personnel, any Norton Commons personnel, or their designated agents.
- Norton Commons reserves the right to close the dog parks at anytime and without notice.
- Owners who have a known aggressive dog should not seek membership to the dog parks.
- The Norton Commons Foundation and/or the NCRVA have the right to revoke membership to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its residents and their pets or to protect itself from liability as is deemed necessary.
